AR-Rescue – Workshop, 17 October 2024
Project: “Augmented Reality for Remote Biometric Monitoring and Rescue Operations in CBRN Situations” (VB02000036) is funded by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic and implemented under the Security Research Programme of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic 2021–2026: Development, Testing and Evaluation of New Security Technologies (SECTECH).
Project Objective
The aim of the project is to develop and implement a solution that combines a lightweight, modular augmented reality visor with sensors for vital signs and hazardous chemical substances. The system is primarily intended for CBRN and Fire Rescue Service (FRS) units, and its main goal is to enhance their situational awareness in real time – including health risks to team members, their exact locations, and the presence of hazardous substances at the intervention site.
Workshop (17 October 2024)
The first expert workshop of the project “Augmented Reality for Remote Biometric Monitoring and Rescue Operations in CBRN Situations” took place on 17 October 2024, focusing mainly on members of the Fire Rescue Service.
Participants jointly reviewed and discussed the collected technical requirements for the solution and their prioritization. The discussion also covered the possibilities of integrating individual system components into existing protective equipment.
We thank all participants for their valuable feedback on the proposed solution.

Outcome
Based on the findings from the first workshop, the technical concept of the AR Rescue system was refined, and the technical requirements for the solution were validated. In cooperation with colleagues from the Fire Rescue Service, the project team continuously updated the list of project risks and validated the detailed plan for further system development and upcoming tests with end users.
The feedback obtained made a significant contribution to achieving the project’s overall goal – to increase the safety and operational efficiency of units operating in critical CBRN situations.
